Fasting plasma glucose is 100-125 mg/dL or 5.6-6.9 mmol/L (After a minimum of 8 hour fasting) *
Glucose level more than equle to140 mg/dL (7.8 mmol/L) but less than 200 mg/dL (11.1 mmol/L) 2 hours after Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT) (with standardized 75 gram oral load of glucose) *
Pre diabetes is also called as borderline diabetes, a condition in which the individual stands a high risk of becoming a diabetic. As a pre diabetic one might experience some initial symptoms of diabetes like sudden weight loss, blurred vision, slow healing of wounds, etc. It is defined as having a blood glucose level that is higher than normal, but not high enough to be classified as diabetes.
