Myth: I will become anaemic or contrive HIV or other infectious diseases if I donate blood
Fact: There is a systematic procedure for taking blood from the donor. The authorities take utmost care and are responsible for the donor’s safety. Hence, they use a new, sterile needle for each donation. Sterility of the equipments and their proper disposal reduces the chances of spreading infection. Also, donating blood will not make you anaemic, as blood volume returns to normal within 48 hours.
